Coaching

Christina has long experience in both coaching and counselling skills, and incorporates a mixture of approaches in coaching.

There are many aspects which contribute to the ‘way we come across’, and first steps in a coaching session are identifying what a client wants from work on his/her communication, discussing how communication skills may be relevant in working and personal life, and exploring styles and habits that have developed over time.

Confidence, presence, mindfulness, leadership, humour, voice, vocabulary, image and body awareness.. these are just some of the words that may be relevant in the very practical way that Christina works in 1:1 sessions. Visual-sound recordings of the client ‘in action’ are often made so that they can be reviewed and discussed. Clients can have copies of these, and Christina often records tailor-made suggestions and exercises for later personal practice.

Recent issues covered in coaching sessions have included: leadership skills; stress management;  the particular challenges, and powers, for women in business and education; the mysterious qualities of presence and impact; interview skills;  voice training for projection, power and drama. Each person and each session is different so spontaneity is essential.

Much – but not all –  of Christina’s coaching work is arranged through Vox Coaching

What was evident in the last session was how the rounded coaching was actually the background to using the voice and developing presence and impact. It was all interlinked. Christina was a fabulous coach and I really enjoyed working with her. I hope to keep in touch as my career develops.

Working with Christina was a great experience and I feel honoured to have had access to someone with such vast knowledge and experience. The exercises pushed me beyond my comfort zone but Christina put me at ease and helped me to relax and to understand the relevance and objective of the task. The results have been noticeable, providing confidence and assurance when speaking in public. Christina was able to understand me as an individual, how I work and how I use my voice, and identified a number of techniques to enable me to deliver more confident, assured presentations. I have benefitted greatly from the coaching.
